Social Map

Social Map is a series of paintings that observes how we live, gather, and organize ourselves within society. Through the repetition of eyes, forms, and colors, each work constructs a symbolic cartography where people, communities, social classes, cultures, spaces of power, and zones of exclusion appear.

The eyes represent presences: individuals, groups, societies, or territories that observe, inhabit, separate, merge, or attempt to belong. Some occupy central spaces, while others remain at the edges, in corners, or within more confined areas. This distribution reveals tensions around access, privilege, consumption, belonging, and inequality.

The series also speaks about transformation. As happens through migration and the coexistence of cultures, groups cross paths, influence one another, and generate new identities. From this mixture, new ways of existing emerge.

Although the works are filled with color and beauty, that appearance functions as a disguise. Behind what is visually attractive lies a critique of the artificial happiness created by consumption: places, events, and systems that promise integration, but often produce only an illusion of belonging.

Social Map invites the viewer to look closely. Each painting functions as a visual puzzle, where every corner may reveal a different story, tension, or interpretation.
